It’s not too often that the Tjossem’s ask for help, so when they do it must be for a very good cause. Click on the link and it will point you in the right direction.
I’m so glad you decided to read this post! Last night I attended a benefit for Shannon O’Hara and St. Jude’s Hospital. Shannon (13) was diagnosed with a brain stem glioma (brain tumor) last April and passed away on January 6, 2012. She didn’t make it to her benefit but over 500 people did last night! The money raised went to a scholarship fund and St. Jude’s Hospital to help advance research in cancer. Attending this event, sheding a few tears during Shannon’s father’s speech, and seeing the generosity of the people there has really motivated me to become an advocate for a different non-profit organization that has helped us over the last 6 months.
Team Kaden is nearing the end of treatment and now we want to GIVE BACK to Brighter Tomorrows of Rochester! Can you help us achieve our goal of $1500??!!! I hope so! You have heard me talk about Brighter Tomorrows on this site and I honestly can’t say enough about this organization and how supportive they are of us and other families with pediatric cancer. The fundraising event is called “Go For the Gold” and will be held on June 9th, 2012.
Here is my fundraising page for donating online: ” target=”_blank”>http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/jaimetjossem/goforthegold
If you are truly interested in helping Team Kaden achieve our goal but don’t want to donate online you can send your donation to us directly. $1, $5…$100, whatever you can give will be going to a worthwhile organization and will be much appreciated!
PS. Kaden is doing great! Last night he slept in his prothesis for the first time and woke up this morning saying, “Momma, I slept in my prosthetic and I really like it!” You have no idea how HUGE it is for us to see Kaden WALK out of his bedroom in the morning! We hopefully resume treatment on Tuesday!
If you’d like to send direct to the Tjossem’s please send me a PM and I’ll get you their address. Thanks again everyone. IDO Hunting and everyone on this site has already been very generous, to which my hat is off to you still. Please see if you can dig a little deeper for such an amazing young man and his family.
Kooty, would there be a chance that this could get pinned towards the top?
