I’ve never seen an eagle in the water before, but this guy is pretty determined!

I hope this hasn’t been online before, I’m seeing it for the first time.

I was always told their feathers are absorbent and they can’t fly after being in the water. Very cool!!!

Guys, Let us not get carried away here…That film was taken in Baton Rouge LA. That bird was drunk.

Seen ’em swim in N. WI, but if they have to stay in the water very long, the outcome is not usually very good…

I had friends actually net one on Eagle Lake last summer way off shore and take it shore to let it go… they were pretty sure that as far off as it was, it was certain to not make it. I’ll see if I have his pictures from last summer.

Now that I looked at it, I have actually seen them do the backstroke more often than that method.

Cool video and I’ve actually seen this firsthand fishing up in Ontario. My buddy hooked an eelpout deep and couldn’t revive it so he just left it floating on top of the water and continued trolling. Wouldn’t you know it, a bald eagle finally made its way over and did the same exact thing on the video above but it was about 100 yards to shore and took several minutes.
