I’m a bit blown away how this has transpired. The group I went to Alaska with 2 years ago invited me again this year. I had to decline at the time(last fall). I said count me in for 2014 though.

Skip forward to late last night. I get an email from the “organizer” asking if I want to go. Saying plane tickets are at an all time low. I decided to run it by the war department again. This time the vote changed.

I’M GOING TO ALASKA!!! I’ll be there June 22nd – 28th. Here is a recap of my last trip.

    Alaska 2010

Here is the deal. We are hosted by a great group of guys who have been hunting on my cousin’s farm for 30 years. They are all retired now and own some awesome boats. We motor about 6 hours from Ketchican and anchor up in a cove. We “live” on the big boats and fish from the little ones the next 5 days. It’s basically the cost of my plane ticket, the tip for gas, fishing license and few incidentals. Otherwise these guys wine and dine us! I’m a bit awe struck as I figured I’d never get to go again but to get to go twice is amazing!!

A guy has to take opportunities like that. Sounds like a hoot.

Sounds like fun. My wife and I are going to Alaska the 21st-29th of June. I have a friend that lives up there. I hope I have half as much fun as you did in 2010. Good luck!

That’s awesome news Kooty! Do you need a sherpa to carry all your gear and game?

Right on Kooty! I’m going to be there about the same time, though we go to Sitka. I go every other year ( 12 years now). Every trip is a new experience, always fun. I hope you have a great time!!

She had a tragic accident last summer. I don’t think she can make this trip. I’m gonna have to come up with something to top last trip though.
