Please Pray for Austin

    A few weeks back I asked for your prayers for my Dad. I truly believe it helped as he is doing well -even though he is still going through tests to find what is really going on. THANK YOU ALL!

    Today my 6 year-old nephew Austin was rushed to Rochester from Eau Claire via ambulance after having an MRI. They found a brain tumor so Austin will be undergoing surgery. We are all staying at or near Saint Mary’s to support the little guy.

    It’s fair to say that I’m not an extremely religious man. However I do know that there is a great deal of power in prayer and/or good vibes. Please send prayers and /or those good vibes for Austin. Thank you all again in advance – hopefully my next post will be a fun/interesting/positive one!

    Surgery went well! They removed a tennis ball sized tumor deep within his frontal lobe. Today he will undergo his 4th MRI so they can see if they got it all. We should know if the tumor is cancerous or not by Tuesday.

    He’s a tough little guy! Thank you all for the prayers and support!

    Wow, that was fast. Praying for a speedy recovery. And I’ll pray that they got the whole tumor.

    More good news – Miracles do happen!!! They are confident they removed the entire tumor, and best yet, it was benign! It was a pilocytic astrocytoma so Austin will not need kimo/radiation! Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers for my little nephew – I truly believe in the power of hope! He will be in the rehabilitation unit at Mayo for the next couple of weeks to regain functions of his right side. He will also be continuing tests in the months to come to make sure it’s all gone & stays gone…
