    Need help finding a taxidermist. My “usual” one left the country.

    I am looking to get some ducks mounted, canvasbacks specifically. We shot out limit of cans yesterday, and I am looking to mount 2 bulls and a hen. I am looking for a taxidermist that does good bird work at a reasonable rate within about 50 miles of Eau Claire.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Yes, I was just about to let you know how we did.

    Beautiful setting, really warm and sunny weather was great for comfort. The birds weren’t dropping in every 5 minutes, but we did fine. 9 birds in all with a few other misses and a few that we downed but “got away” despite our best retrieval and shotgunning efforts.

    We did limit on cans, which was one of my main goals. (even just to get one was great)… Seeing tens of thousands of canvasbacks working the area was a huge added bonus.

    Very good hunt, Matt had a nice setup and we very much enjoyed the experience. Each of us shot our first cans – 3 bulls, and I ended up killing a hen. The hen and two bulls will go on the wall, hence the post.

    Thanks again for the recommendation… The amount of waterfowl in the area was outstanding.
