    Not really….they do bend in quite a bit when the big fish get hooked up on them.

    However, its getting to the end of the season, but the asparagus is ripe for the pickin!!!

    Any gravel country road should have plenty. Just drive around at 20mph or so, and search the ditches for the mature seeded plants. I you’ve never seen one, search “mature asparagus plant” on Bing images. Once you recognize what to look for, you will see it everywhere you go!!! The edible shoots will be growing around the base of the mature plant.

    Throw that on the grill with a bacon wrapped venison tenderloin and some morel mushrooms and you will have the best meal of your life.

    That’s the menu I’d request for my last meal if I was on death row!

    It grows all over in ditches here in Iowa. Grilled with a light coat of olive oil salt pepper and a little garlic powder is the only way to eat it.

    Archibald Asparagus – you have to have kids! Thoase are some dandy’s though!
