I went out morel hunting with some friends last night and we found this guy sitting on some leaves. It was one of the coolest and most camouflaged creatures I have ever seen. It was about 4-5″ tall and 4″ wide when resting. Morel hunting wasn’t too bad either but it looks like its almost over for the year. Hope you like the pictures

    Awesome! That is way cool!
Only downside of being that camo’d is that you could get chomped by a deer!

Love the moth but prefer the second shot! Where are you hunting morels that there is little/no ground vegetation? I’m still scraped up from fighting raspberry brambles and everything else green out there!

Hard to tell from the picture but its a steep hillside, bottom of the coulees.
…I cant believe I even replied to a morel question that included the word WHERE

I was quite the avid bug collector as a kid, and I always wanted a luna moth! I never ended up finding one. That is so cool!!!
