I grew up 3 miles from there. I now live about 10 miles away. The campers have been pouring in since yesterday. I think with this weather it will be time for a little “sightseeing”

It’s getting a little expensive to go every year so we are not going this year. We usually do either Country or Rock Fest but this year we are doing a house boat trip down by LaCrosse. Should be a good time. Brad, if you get a chance, hit the Chinese food stand by the beer tent to the left of the main stage…they have an awesome Chinese Combo Platter!

Just saw Kenny Chesney’s tour bus at the Hilton in Bloomington. Quite a rig!

I went for about 4 years in a row. Always did the VIP thing too. That is the only way to do these events. I heard a rumor that this might be the last year of Fest. Sounds like they might move it to Somerset instead. Have fun out there. Where are you staying while there?

Already tried that and it didn’t work.

We got some corporate VIP tickets with all the goodies and we are staying in a camper right there.

Wissota isn’t too far from the fest grounds. Bring the long rods and whack a few suspended fish.

If you are camping in the VIP area, there is a group of people who like to have a good time and are more than willing to allow fellow festers to come in and party. You will be able to find them when they turn up the karoke after the shows are done. You will know it is them when they sing the Alice Song. It is a great time and you will not be able to get that song out of your head. Just remember the words: Who the F*#$ is Alice?? Enjoy the show and food. They treat you right in VIP!!!

I’m not a deer hunter. I’m not trying to grow antlers on the deer in our area. But I do like seeing deer and my Favorite Wife thinks they are cutesy. So when I picked up a bag of Nutra Deer from the companies owner last Sunday, I knew exactly where I was going to use it. In the front yard right in front of the picture window and the motion activated light.

I asked Jeff how to use it, thinking I would just dump 1/4 bag out in a pile. “Oh no” Jeff said, “just take a 10 oz cup and broadcast spread it. Don’t put it in a pile or use more than that”. Now I haven’t fed deer before, but I’ve always seen people putting piles of shell corn out for them, so sprinkling a couple cup fulls around didn’t really make any sense to me. I told the FW “I’m going to have to see this to believe it”.

Well the first night it was out the light came on as 6 deer walked cautiously into our yard!

Tonight I’m going to have the camera ready on a tripod to use without flash.

I know this might be a “welldaoh” to many of you hard core deer guys, but to my Favorite Wife and I it was just too cool!

Hopefully if all works out with the camera, I’ll have some Afton deer pictures to share.

Can’t wait to see some deer photos from you. It will be as rare as you catching a walleye….well I guess that’s not really that rare.

Well I am back from the north! 9hrs and 38 minutes from Brads driveway to my office……

WOW what a trip..Lots of friendly folks in MN and WI..

Glad to shake hands with you Brian and boy did I get to meet a bunch of Brad’s pals…….Thats a deer crazy crew he hunts with! I have never seen so many BIG BUCKS from one area in all my life….Thats a special place you all have up there and I am glad Nutra Deer products will be showcased on the iDo website this year!

As for your test of our CORN SPIKE pellets Bk….When it comes to deer attractants that deer are not used to eating daily or weekly we have found through testing that most folks try to put out way more attractant than they really need to the first few times when using it. We have also found our attractants should almost be treated like candy to a deer. They are coming in to them thinking about getting a tasty little treat, not to eat a meal. The PRO ANTLER deer feed is the meal….I set you up with our CORN SPIKE Rice Bran Pellets and the deer love um! Hope to see some pics soon…..

Thanks for taking the time to meet me on the way to see Brad with all the goodies!

Brad thanks for the tour and sharing your friends with me. I really enjoyed my trip. I am sure we are going to have a blast this year on the forum!

After 3 years of talking fishing on the phone, it’s good to meet you too Jeff!

Just had a little guy in the front yard. It’s not even dark!

Now I just have to train the FW not to say “A DEER…A DEER IN OUR FRONT YARD!!”

I don’t know how this is going to work out. The neighbors came over to look at the that WERE in our front yard.

Well they’re hanging around, the deer not the neighbors so I’m still hopeful.

Ps the FW says thanks for making the garage smell better. I think she was talking about the smell of the CORN SPIKE…but I’m not going to ask her to clarify.

Brads garage smelled good too with all those 50 lb bags of Pro Antler in there. You could actually smell the feed outside the garage door. You had 1 bag in your garage. Brad had around 65 bags in his!

I hope Brad has bars on his garage windows! Those deer will be busting in if he’s not careful!

Kooty! You missed a good visit with Jeff. I told him all about you and it’s surprising how much you two have in common.

It was great meeting you Jeff. I will be out tomorrow in the north metro putting some of the mineral out along with a trail cam in front of it. I am ready to start the deer season!

Well I found out Afton is NOT Buffalo County.

I think we have some squirrels larger than the smaller one in the photo.

I slept on the couch the last two nights to get a photo of these guys so I was happy they came in at 7:50 tonight. Maybe the Tornado Test Sirens kicked them up early?

Every morning the pellets were gone. I must have slept through the motion light.

I’m thinking we have more in the area…we’ll see.

Looks like you have been bit by the hunting deer with the camra bug BK, now you need to get a trail cam so you do not have to sleep on the couch!

I thought about that Steve. The FW said no…you just sleep on the couch for a while.

So are these a cross between a squirrel and a deer?

You guys can stop laughing at them now.
