Techy Tip 3/22/11 – Cabelas Recon App

    I got an email last weekend from Cabelas. Thinking it was the normal “spam” of free shipping blah, blah, blah. I still open them because I’m a sucker for a sale.

    Anyhow, this one happens to tell me about a new hunting app that is available for the iPhone and Droid based phones. Cabelas Recon Hunt. If you have one of these phones, it looks like it’s gonna be a great app.

    I’ve yet to use the app, but if it works like I think, it’s gonna be pretty cool. It will eliminate the need for a handheld GPS to find your stands in the dark. It will help with blood trails.

    Check it out. I’ll try to do a full review after I’ve played with it in the field.

    I saw that app too. I thought it looked interesting, however, some of the reviews were not that great. I would be interested in you review when it is available.

    I plan to use it this weekend out ice fishing….assuming I can get on the ice. Otherwise, I’ll use it while we are turkey hunting and give a review then. I figured for $4.00 it was worth a try.

    Interesting… It looks promising if it does everything they say in a timely manner.
