I live in Albert Lea, MN and I am looking for affordable Ferrel Hog hunts. I’m not looking for Trophy Boars, more interested in meat hogs. Like to find a place that is 8 hours or so drive from SE MN.

March 28, 2011 at 12:36 am #103197Does Missouri have a hog population? Otherwise, anything around here is either a game farm or dumb luck. As far as I know, we have very low ferrel hog numbers in this region.
I did some research and found that there are some ranches in TX that are quite reasonable if you’re simply looking for table fare. But, since I don’t know what you’d be interested in specifically, I’ll just encourage you to do some surfing and see if you find anything that fits your interests. The extra drive time would be worth it if you brought something back for the freezer.

That is what I would like to find, but it appears as if those folks don’t advertise!

What type/caliber gun is recommended for shooting hogs? Is it more about knock down power or distance?
