Bought some land last year, and want to use my camper to stay in for next rifle hunting season(Mainly opening weekend). Wondering if there are suggestions for a QUIET and durable 4 stroke 1000-2000 wat generator other than the expensive Honda or Yamaha. Never sure how quiet they are until you get them home and try them, then it is to late. Thanks in advance!

If you want quiet and durable Yamaha, and Honda are your options.
There are tons of cheap generators that will make power and probably last for years, but if you want Honda or Yamaha performance you will have to pay for it.

Yep, if you want it quiet, Honda all the way. I did a lot of research before I bought one. Honda can;t be beat IMO.

Is Kawasaki in that category? Do they even still make them?

I’d go with the Honda. I’d get the 3500-5000 watt model.Ya won’t be able to power much for 1000-2000 watts.A microwave needs 1100 watts.Even a small coffee pot needs 500-1000w.

If you dont want to spend the money on a honda, get the biggest one you can afford. Dont worry about brand.

Buy a cheaper good generator and a 100′ roll of 10 or 12 gauge wire with a ground wire, regular household wire and build a dropcord. It may be pretty quiet 100′ away behind a tree.

My buddy bought one, he researches everything and he found one, I can’t remember the name of it, but it is comparable to a Honda or Yamaha. He had a Honda EU1000, but needed a bigger one…he traded the 1000 for the one he has now. I will find out the name and let you know. I used it one year at Ripley, bowhunting… had it literally right outside the bedroom window running all night, I slept like a baby Oh yeah, its not a big steel frame one either… it’s in a blue plastic case like the Yamaha…

Thanks for the post guys. I do have a 6250 wat Coleman already to power the camper in the summer for the A/C. The land I own is small, and didn’t want that noise all night possibly spooking deer(that sucker is LOUD). Thought the small quiet generator would be better for a T.V. and the furnace, and use less fuel. Found a 1000 wat Honeywell for $350 with pretty good reviews. Anyone know about these first hand?

The Honeywell is rated at 58db at 7 meters and the Boiley is rated 53db – 58db at 7 meters, depending on the mode it’s in. Sell the Coleman and upgrade to the Boiley, quiet all year round, no matter where you park
