As many of you may recall, Tony was the winner of the Gold Member Sponsor drawing where he won a hunt to Bluff Buck Outfitters this past fall and harvested a great Buffalo County 10 point. (Read about it here) Below is Tony’s bio in his own words:
First of all I would like to thank IDO its members and staff for what a great site.
I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa . I spent my summers in Lansing Iowa on the Mississippi River fishing. My Father bought me my first boat at the age 11 and I learned every inch of pool 9 that I could with that old flat bottom. I grew up with a great family and owe a lot of my outdoor knowledge to my Father who got me started at a young age. He truly was my hero and still is today. He bought me my first gun at the age of 7 which was a Mossberg 410 . I started out hunting squirrel and rabbit hunting. Let me tell you I couldn’t wait for that first frost every year so I could get out there.
At the age of 12 I started shooting my dads old Bear recurve bow and found that archery was my passion. By the age of 14 I de-tasseled corn and bought my first compound bow which was an Onieda Eagle. I harvested my first deer that same year with the bow. I have taken over 20 whitetail bucks with my bow ranging from Iowa , Minnesota and Wisconsin.
In the spring you can find me chasing turkeys with my family which I truly enjoy. My son Kolton has been joining me since the age of 4 and now my daughters have also showed interest in going. Working with kids and getting them involved with the outdoors is something I really enjoy.
I have almost 30 years of outdoor experience in the woods and on the water. I hope my knowledge of the outdoors will be helpful to everyone and would be glad to help out as much as I can. I also enjoy learning from IDO members and staff .
Welcome to the IDO Hunting team Tony, we are looking forward to all your contributions!
