In Turkey Country mag, there is a article on Coyotes and predation. There is a study noted done at Savannah River nuclear facility in North Carolina. Where they found coyotes responsible for 50 – 80% of all fawn deaths. Coyotes killed 35 of 60 total fawns born. But yet there is no real proof that coyotes have any real affect on turkey population just a suspicion as quoted by Dr Charles Ruth.
If wanting to gain access to land for Yote hunting find a copy of this study, and present it to any land owner that hunts deer. I believe it will up your chances many fold of gaining access.
