I just got my 40th birthday present from my wife and son. A new mini 30. I’ve wanted one of these for a while for fun shooting. My son was cool enough to remove the syn stock and put on a houge over molded one in tan. Always wanted something in 7.62×39 and now have it. Another one for the safe, I love it.

At first I put a vxII 3x9x40 on it.(it was on my Rem 700 backup hunting rifle and was replaced this year so the vxII was sitting idle) After shooting it I wanted more power so I replaced it with a Alpen Apex 4x14x44. and like the magnification better. Its a good scope for the money and very clear. Its mostly for fun shooting so I’m not putting tons of cash into the glass on top of it. It shoots pretty good. Little bit of polishing of the feed ramp and a good cleaning/lube job it runs nice. Old sling that was laying around. fun to shoot and cheap ammo. The Hogue stock is awesome. Totally changes the feel of the gun and added a little to the LOP. Thanks guys.
