ok…during deer season in your blind you don’t have to wear your blaze orange, it may be recommended to wear it traveling in your boat to and from your blind, but is it the law that it must be worn? I can’t seem to find anything in the laws about it, thanks

BLAZE ORANGE REQUIREMENTS
Small Game Seasons: You may not take small game unless a visible portion of at least one article of clothing above the waist is blaze orange, except when hunting wild turkeys, migratory birds, raccoons, predators, when hunting by falconry, or while trapping.
Deer Season: Also, you may not hunt or trap during any open season where deer may be taken by firearms (including special hunts, early antlerless, youth seasons, and muzzleloader) under applicable laws and ordinances unless the visible portion of your cap and outer clothing above the waist, excluding sleeves and gloves, is blaze orange. Red is not a legal color, except for those who qualify under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993. Blaze orange includes a camouflage pattern of at least 50 percent blaze orange within each square foot. This restriction does not apply to migratory waterfowl hunters on waters or in a stationary shooting location or to trappers on waters. Times and zones for firearms are shown in the map on next page. Muzzleloader season is open statewide, except for closed areas (see page 90).November 11, 2010 at 10:09 pm #92426last year we were goose hunting a field for an evening hunt around st cloud and sun went down so we went to go get the trucks and start picking up dekes. Next thing there is a truck flying through the field and im like ok guys that is gonna be a C.O. Well i was right and he wasnt concerned about our shells, plugs anything, just if we had orange because he had said we hadnt been wearing any. Well of the four of us we werent wearing any but had some in the truck, so he made us put it on. Was actually really decent about it in that no tickets were issued, which was great, but as far as i know is during any deer firearms season there needs to be orange worn….this includes muzzy…

I think this was the portion your CO was concerned about WF. When you are on water you do not need it, nor when you are in your blinds (a stationary shooting location). When you guys went to the trucks you were no longer in a stationary position, nor on water (Im sure you knew this, just putting it out there). Gray area in your situation would be that it was after shooting hours.
Personally, during deer season slug/muzzy we always wear orange in the boat, walk to and from field blinds, ect (pretty much any time were not going to be shooting birds) . When we get to where were hunting it gets stuffed in bags. Theory being, always best to let the deer hunters know where your at.
