I would say young. I was always under the impression that a buck’s pedicels showed the potential for his next years growth. No idea if that’s true but even with the velvet on, he seems to have some nice bases.

young deer imo…..even if i have a weird looking buck, i try to let him walk anyway…i just figure that the more bucks out there, the better the chance that the neighbors might kill him and be done versus one that i really would like to live.

I am having a hard time with this one Long sway back, deep thru the chest, sagging brisket, fairly long head. I really think it’s a hard call on this one. I wish I had a side view of him. Or if we had a back view Pat could tell us for sure

IMO, I don’t think his body is that of a 1.5 year old. Small rack, no brow tines, SW WI…cull.

I changed my mind 3 times also thought his skin looked too big for him and the ripped ear said it wasn’t his 1st set of antlers Thanks Bob

I agree – tough call. The bases look like he’s a 2 year old as well.

Hard to tell from one angle but I also say 2.5 yo, based on brisket, length of nose to eye, and length/sway of back. IMO, he should at least see another season or two before culling him as his true potential might not be showing yet due to injury or food availability/nutrition.

    Just my $.02.
