Not just going after fawns anymore!
3:26 PMLocal buck attacked by bear
The pics are of a buck that was hit by a vehicle and could not walk.
It happeed locally in Wood County near the driveway. A friend happened to stop to look at the deer when the bear came out of the woods
and attacked it. He was actually pretty close when all this happened as the pics will show.
September 3, 2010 at 2:45 pm #71058I got this a couple days ago… the EXACT same thing happened in Cummingsville Minnesota ???

Cool pictures, it’s just nature though.
To some degree it is nature, but if it were me and I saw this buck suffering from someone who hit him, I would be grabbing something other than my camera. And to watch him die that way would just turn my stomach. Shame on the person who hit him and didn’t do anything.

How do you know they didn’t do anything? A CO or police officer could be very well be on the way at the time of the photos… I’m sure it would take time to arrive on scene if the deer was hit at a remote location… And the way laws are now, if you went to shoot it yourself (assuming you have some sort of firearm in your possesion), you’d probably be arrested for poaching or cruelty to animals or some other stupid law that the anti’s passed in Madison. And I’d doubt the cameraman wants to climb out and get between the bear and his dinner….
Just hard to pass judgment based on a few photos, I guess….

I agree with you whitt in that the person holding the camera really couldn’t do much. (Although me personally, I would’ve tried something to scare off the bear…and who knows, maybe they did) However, I have hit a deer before and yes, it did take about an hour for law enforcement to get there. But I can tell you that I made sure the deer didn’t suffer for that hour. I couldn’t imagine hitting that deer and just driving away to hope for the best. You’re right though, I don’t know all the details…I’m just saying what I would’ve done. I might be a little too hard on the person who hit him but for me it would’ve been different.
