    What to do?

Recently I won a Beretta 20 gauge White Onyx over/under…DU Edition.

I pheasant hunt but not nearly as much as I hunt ducks/geese. I have an 870 that I use…thinking about trading the 20 gauge in for a NICE waterfowl gun.

So 2 questions…should I trade the gun in and get a new 12 gauge or keep the 20 gauge? It is a nice gun…

If I do trade it in I can’t decide between the SX3 and the SBE II…I get mixed reviews.

    Any advice?

    grats on the new boomstick!!!

but i’d definitely get a 12, even for pheasant.

as far as sbe vs the sx3? thats a tough call, i say flip a coin. ive heard that the benelli inertia driven auto loaders have problems cycling target loads.

personally i would go with the sx3, it shoulders nicer for me, and its roughly $400 cheaper. (but i have a sx2, so i may be bias)

I’d go with a 12 gauge. As for the SX3 or SBE…In my opinion, that’s a politics/religion question. Everyone thinks his gun is the best. Go shoulder them both. Pick the one you like best.

I’m personally a Benelli fan. I never had any issue with target loads, but I also kept my gun very clean. The only time I had cycling issues was with Federal loads in January. The last few days of goose season put us in some real nasty weather and the Federal shells just expanded to much. I switched to the Remington shells and the problems went away.

Either way, congrats on a new goose killing machine!

I shoot a SBEII. I did have trouble cycling target loads when the gun was new, but after a couple boxes of shells, I have not had one problem with it. I tend to use my gun as much as possible, and it problably gets a little grubby by the end of the season, but it has worked great.

Sorry, I do not have any experience with the SX3, but every report I have read says good things. As noted previously, flip a coin, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

love my SBE II. Never shot the other one, but I don’t need/want to.
