Bushnell Trophy Cam Error and Fix

Just got off the phone with Bushnell regarding an error I was having with my Trophy Cam. So as to save others time and frustration, they offered a quick/easy fix if you have the same problem.

I was getting a summary screen to pop up and lock-in when switching to the “setup” mode. All that would display was a list of the settings, modes, and all the other buttons wouldn’t work. I couldn’t adjust any of my camera/video settings, and the thing was just “hung-up.”

The issue was actually the memory card. If the memory card is switched to “lock” or if it’s junk or corrupt, you need to replace it or re-format it on your computer. Shut the unit off, put the SD card back in, and you’re back in business.

It was also recommended that you re-format the card on your computer, though the “format” option on the Trophy Cam will work.

Yeah, it’s occurring to me that after we put these SD cards through a year or two or rugged use (falling in the dirt, lots of save/load cycles, etc.) that they might go bad from time to time.

An excuse to upgrade to cards with more storage if the cams are up to it. Esp. with the videos, an 8-16Gb card in each unit that would accept them would be handy.

I had a problem with mine when I would go to the set-up screen. It would flash a bunch of random stuff and beep continuously. It did this with all the memory cards. I could also not use the menu to reformat.

I formatted the cards on the coumputer instead and then it seemed to work fine. Not sure why all the cards would have a problem at the same time.

Nvermind. Will be calling Bushnell in the morning if I do not run it over with my truck first.
