I didn’t know they were back in business. For such a simple bait they sure work well. I couldn’t find them a while back and have been using these .

I always think of these baits as the “Sonar”, from the Heddon Sonar bait.

    Hey Arnie,

They are indeed great for smallmouth when the water is really cold. They are hard to beat when the water is in the 30’s to low 40’s.

I have never thrown this type of bait before but am told that it is easy to fish and hook-ups are great.

I am going to try them this year.

It is true. Mary Banks started the business back up.

Eric, this is a killer bait on Deer Lake. Stanzick used the silver buddy for years.

    Hey Arnie,

I have actually never used silver buddies out on deer or really any of the lakes up in Rapids. In the past I have always used them exclusively for cold water smallies in rivers. I don’t really know why but that is the niche they fell in for me. I was planning on playing with them on lakes during the summer this year and needed more which is why I went looking for anyone that was still selling the original since I had none left, only some nock-offs.

I am sure they have to work great out on deer. So I am excited to try them out there.

Not sure what this guy was doing here. Couple miles away from the nearest trout stream. Did not know that they traveled around.

Thats pretty cool. Cant say that I have even seen that before! Really neat seeing the different things that the cams pic up every now and again.
