Alaska – A truely amazing experience

I posted most of these pics on the fishing side, but thought my hunting friends may not see them over there. So, I spent 5 days in Alaska fishing. It is simply breathtaking!!! To make a long story short, I couldn’t have had a better time with some of my oldest friends.

Pic 1, our “homes” for 5 days. I was lucky enough to stay on the bigger boat. I’ve stayed in a lot of motels that aren’t half this nice. The boat had more gears and gadgets.

Some of the fish I was blessed to catch. The butt was bout 20 lbs. The King in the 25 range. Throw in a I got to catch a shark and decent ling cod, my trip checklist was complete by day 3.

On day 1, I got to see a large whale do it’s “dance” and spotted a black bear on shore. We put out crab pots and had fresh crab everyday. We also put out shrimp pots, but we didn’t do so good with numbers. However, I did have my 1st ever sushi. I skinned/peeled a fresh shrimp from the ocean and ate. If you know me at all, this was a major challenge for me. I’m a steak well done kind of guy.

Here are some scenery pics. Notice how nice the weather is. I’m still pealing on my ears. They “never” get 5 days of weather like they had while we were there.

Some sort of ray that was caught on the big boat while I was out trolling. I wish I could have been there for that.

Wow – what a trip Kooty! Great fishing, great scenery, great weather and good friends! Just doesn’t get much better than that!
