My father-in-law is a coin collector and gave me this information.

The term “peacemaker” confuses him. Is this a commemorative coin?

There a lot of the 1873 gold coins that are called “half eagles or full eagles”. Is this what you have?

The value depends on the denomination of the coin and its condition. Gold has influenced the prices and it has driven the coin prices up recently.

    1873 gold coins came in $3, $5 , $10 , $20 denominations.

Here are some estimates for uncirculated coins in mint condition.

    $3 – $3000
    $20 – $2000 – $2500
    $10 – $1000
    $5 – $500
