The arrests come less than five months after Buffalo County law enforcement uncovered a large marijuana-grow operation near Nelson, Wis., in which authorities believe 2,000 marijuana plants had been harvested just before they arrived. Schmidtknecht said it doesn’t appear the grow operation is related to Wednesday’s busts.
I was told about that operation near Nelson from a fellow worker whose best friend found it while heading to his bow hunting area down along the river last Fall and contacted the DNR. Sounded like once the plants were harvested they left everything else behind.
