Just a shot in the dark – but wondering if anybody has a cape from a 4 yr old full rut buck that they would be willing to part with. Mine came back from the tannery with a tennis ball sized spot on the right side of the face between the nose and eye and golf ball sized on the left with no hair – just skin. Will be hard to cover up. My taxidermist said it looked like he had gotten stuck in the face while fighting and had quite a [censored] pocket which he was afraid would lead to the loss of hair during tanning. Also has a slash from the eye up his head from fighting but that can probably be covered up or sown tightly together. My best buck so don’t want the hide to take away from the mount.
