I have been an Official Measurer at the MN Deer Classic for over 23 years,
I’m looking to see if anyone has a current year or past years antlers that you’d like or need measured.

I need to get the paper work in the Deer Classic office in a few weeks.
I offer this as a public service. My time is totally volunteer.
The cost is $20 per rack. and that money goes into herd and habitat improvement.
We measure Whitetails, Moose, Bear skulls and sheds.

Also if your Buck is from a state other than MN, I can still measure it and get it recognized with the Deer Classic, it just would not be able to have an entry in the MN Record Book.

There will be a brand new Minnesota Record book out available this Fall, that will include all qualifing entries thru June this year.

Any rack that qualifies for the MN Record Book will get an automatic, (no extra cost ) entry…
Give me a call, or PM.

I’d have to run that one past the little bro. He has a nice one getting shoulder mounted from this year. The Taxidermy guy said he runs atleast 160. Either way though the little bro was happy being it’s his second deer ever.

    Paul,
    PM is sent.
Let get those deer measured up soon. Most taxidermists will let you have the rack back til they are ready to put the mount together..

Just to clarify Jack’s post. He does not charge $20.00 to measure the rack as all measuring is free but it does cost $20.00 to enter your animal in the record book if it qualifies.
Correct me if I’m wrong Jack.

    Net 200 Typ,
    Welcome to IDO.

I am not able to edit my original post, so this is to clarify a few points.

It was pointed out to me this evening, that my original post had an error in it.
I was wrong about the measuring costs going to the herd improvement of MN deer. I really thought that was the case when I started measuring long ago, but now most of the measuring fees are to run the MN Deer Classic and offices.

I reiterate, that my time is all volunteer, and the $20 measuring fee is only for entry into the MN Deer Classic. If a measured head or rack qualifies it for entry into the next MN Record Book, it is an automatic entry with no additional fees.

Hope that clarifies a few points,
    Jack Naylor
