Well last night I finally finished off grinding the last of the deer meat in the freezer. I set a new record for myself this year. I ground up 42 deer and one 250 lb pig. Over the last few years I’ve stocked up on all the meat processing equipment that I could afford at Cabelas. I got the largest meat grinder that they sell – 1 3/4 hp, a meat mixer than can mix 44 lbs of meat at a time, a vertical stuffer, a half dozen or so large tubs to hold the meat, and my latest addition, which is the Bradley six-rack electric smoker. All in all, I’m finally set up and prepared for quite a while when it comes to processing my own deer as well as friends and family members. The 42 deer this year is by far my biggest year yet. To reward myself for all this work, I purchased a new winch that I mounted on the ceiling of my garage, as you can see in photo 1. I was able to get a great deal on the winch at Harbor Freight. The winch has a wireless remote that you can clip on your jacket and move the deer up or down as opposed to having a wire hanging down that always gets in your way. I can’t wait until next year to try to set a new record.

Very cool! That’s a lot of venison! So do you have your own recipes as well?

I started with “Grandpa Josh’s” seasoning. Then I made a few changes to make it more to my liking. The last sticks that I made were outstanding

I have a feeling if all your friends know about your equipment you should be able to set a new record every year.
