The time has come for the tires on my hunting vehicle to be replaced. Up until now I’ve always ran B.F. Goodrich All-Terrains and have nothing but great things to say about these tires. This vehicle is just shy of 200,000 miles but is still going strong and the 4 wheel drive still works fine but not knowing how much life is left in this truck I was hoping to not have to pay the premium price for for the BFG’s. The best priced AT’s I have found so far is the Wrangler Authority A/T at wally world which is less than the BFG but their fee of $2.00 / lugnut sorta puts the price up there with the better tires. Any suggestions on a place to shop? or a fairly aggressive moderately priced AT tire. I’m looking for 31×10.5×15 size. Thanks in advance, Randy.

coppertop, I just put a cheap CHINA tire on my Durango, they are aggressive and so far I like them. They are also 31×10.50×15…. as you know, they are higher priced for a 15″ I almost felt like I was stealing em but hey, why not ??? I had them put on where I work and paid $406.65 installed. They are called SAMSON tires. Another one we have luck with, is a General Tire, they are Grabber AT2’s, they run $588.07 installed. Here is a picture of the Generals.

These General Grabbers came new on my 2004 F 150 4WD and I have to say they are a darn good all round tire…Mine are still looking pretty good with 62,000 on them.

I have had many good and many bad truck tires, but it seems like Bridgestone and Firestone are usually reliably good.

I know they aren’t an A/T tire but two weeks ago I purchased a set of Goodyear Wrangler TD’s. A friend runs them on both of his trucks and has good luck with them. Tire wear seems normal and I have never noticed any excessive road noise. I am very happy with them so far. Total bill was 502.00 mounted and balanced. I think the tires alone were quoted to be 118.00.
