    Tribune article posted today:

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – A cougar has been seen roaming in three western Wisconsin counties, state wildlife officials said Tuesday.

A motion-activated trail camera captured a photograph of the cougar Saturday night in Dunn County, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

DNR biologist Jess Carstens then discovered a partially eaten fawn deer carcass Monday covered with corn stalks in a farmer’s field.

Tracks and hair samples also have been found in St. Croix and Pierce counties, DNR officials said

One was just shot during deer season about 90 miles west of here. I believe we are going to be hearing more about them in coming years. Kinda neat really.

So if numbers start to increase will I be able to carry a pistol while bow hunting? The coyotes growling are enough to make you poop! I would hate to hear a deep meow and only have my bow to through at it!!

Thanks Brad, I remember this one, just thought it was a new one. I’ve shot a couple 3-D’S in that exact area and I can see why, its also a good place too deer hunt.
