My 5 year old daughter just walked into the kitchen and asked me to turn on the TV so she could watch deer hunting. She also asked me to teach her how to shoot deer.

Little does she know, I can’t wait!!!!!

It just doesn’t get any better than that! Get that girl a XBOX 360 and some Cabela hunting videos for Christmas! I’m sure dad would have some fun too!

Ha. My night is complete. She just asked me when I am getting her a “bowl” to shoot. I said, bow? She said ya, she needs to practice to shoot a deer. Little moments.

The only thing better is walking up together to their first deer, still brings a tear to my eye.

Speaking of games and getting / keeping them interested… My boy loves to “shoot” the deer he sees on TV with a fake gun or a nerf gun or whatever…

Anyone have this game??? – The Big Buck Hunter plug and play game… Supoosed to be a lot like the arcade video game, but just plug and play into the TV…

    http://www.amazon.com/Buck-Hunter-Electronic-Player-Exclusive/dp/B002T1OFSQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1261242749&sr=8-2

Any reviews? Thought it might be fun for the kids… Seems a little pricey, expecially for the two player, but I could see “sharing issues” between my boys if we just have the one player game. The Wii would be nice, but not thrilled on dropping $500 on all the games and accessories when its all said and done…

BTW, the 5 year old already has a real bow and just LOVES shooting it with me!!

Video games don’t really intrest my kids. Thank God they don’t. They both would rather be getting dirty outside than inside watching TV. My little guy got his first bow and his first shotgun when he was five. He has about grown out of his Pioneer and his sister wants to shoot so I suppose a new familly bow is in order. The sooner you get them started the better!

I bought one for my son this year after seeing someone (Maybe Bowman) show it on the IDO fishing site. My kid is only 3, but he asked for gun to shoot deer on the tv. The game seems a little hard for a 3 year old, but if he gets one, he will be happy.

For what it is, the wife and I have had a hoot playing it. It is most certainly not a X-box or a higher priced gaming system, but it is a lot of fun to play. As long as you realize that, it is a BLAST.

Last week I ordered the big buck hunter – 2 player game for my 9 year old son. I’m hoping it arrives before Christmas. An of course, I will have to make sure that everything is working properly before he gets to try it.
