I’ve decided to install a wood stove in our new shack to ease the use of propane. I’ll have a propane heater installed too. My question is, how big of a stove would I need to heat a 24 by 24 garage kit? I know nothing about wood stoves or even where to begin. I don’t want to buy too big of a stove. Any suggestions?

We use a stove made out of a 55 gallon drum in a 3 stall insulated garage and it does a great job. After you learn how to regulate the heat using the damper one this size or even a little smaller will work for you,Remember if you go to large that the space near the stove becomes to warm to use for bunks etc.If you have electricity available a small fan really will help circulate the air.

Brian I have a barrel stove (35 gallon) in my shop, it is 24 by 30 and she heats up real fast and is easy to maintain. Like said, you learn how to damper it and the fan is a plus
