Man it was a long week here in MN. Seen a ton of small bucks and does from stand with nothing of size I was looking for So we put on some small deer drives to see what we could come up with , Buddy shot a nice 8pt and my brother did shoot a nice doe but with all the corn up it was not a easy job getting them moving
Took my 7 year old out on some of the drives Man it sure is fun watching them and listen to what they think We had this small 8pt walk by us and I did see him coming but didn’t say anything , he was like dad , dad here comes a buck Man it was great just to see his face when this buck came by . I forgot about all the bad days I had and the big one that did slip by me one morning Just want to thank him for the great day we had .

I can’t wait for that moment when I can take my son out in the woods with me.

Very cool moment GMAN and thanks for sharing and reminding us what it is really all about!

That is a very cool story GMAN…thanks for sharing. Brings back memories of how I got started with my dad! We did deer drives all the time. It was special to sit with him and see deer going by!

    Way to go Jason

It is so much easier to keep them interested when you’re seeing deer.

GMAN – He’s a lucky kid for having such an avid sportsman as a dad. Another line, perhaps by the Nuge, or at least helped to be made famous by him:

“Hunt with your kids, so that you don’t have to hunt for your kids.”

I like that one. Underscores that it’s a life-long passion you’re developing in him, and something he’ll enjoy for years to come.

good for you, my 10 year old and i hunted a few days this year, didn’t see much. he went to a bday party on saturday. my 6 and 4 year old boys were playing “buckhunter” in the yard, the wife said i should take them out, so i did. we made a blind, and sat on the edge of a picked corn field. they were hootin and hollarin, and we still managed to see 2 deer! those experiences the kids will remember forever, so congrats to you GMAN for getting your son involved
