Does anybody know what kind of discount Cabelas employees get ? Got an invitation for a sunday night deal there and it says employee discount, but doesn’t say what it is ? Any info is appreciated.

Dont take my word on this but the last time i got one from a relative of mine i got 40% off cabelas brand hunting clothes. Not sure about now but that was two years ago. And i do now it did vary but brands. Cabela brand items being the most discounted items.

you should be able to call the store and they should be able to tell you I would think, but I know last year on one of their promo’s for that extended employee discount, I thought it was right around 30%

Some of the stuff is pretty decent but it seem like the things you want you may only get like 5%.. Had a few things this spring thought we did pretty well until we got to the checkout only to find out that some stuff you may not get anything off???? Just my experince.. Hopefully you have better luck then I have with employee discounts

That’s the kind of info I am looking to get…. if there was an employee here, I am guessing they could tell me exactly what the great deals are, as opposed to the just alright deals. The sale is on a sunday night, the last weekend of rifle hunting and I am trying to figure out if it would be worth, driving down to Rogers on the way home from the cabin…

G, I went there last year for it, sale is supposed to start at 6ish, so I got there a little early, and the lines for the checkout where already almost to the back of the store…. I turned around and left.

According to the card, I think me and about 7 other people were invited to this sale …. Maybe it is not worth it… It runs from 6PM-10PM on a sunday night…? Specifically looking for another gun safe and some boat electronics… anybody know if the employee discounts are good on these items ???

They have a Firefighter/EMT/police deal every year where they do this as well. The discount is great on Cabelas brand gear. Somewheres in the 30-40% range. Anything without the Cabelas brand, you get maybe up to 10%. If you are looking for some clothing, it would be great, anything else, problably not worth your time IMHO

I went to this last winter. There was a line at the door, but I walked right in and got what I wanted and even picked up a few others. I would say it was less busy than a normal weekend. I’m not sure on the discount. I know they’ve lowered them in the last couple years.

    Discount is variable as mentioned.

35-40% range for Cabelas brand clothing
20-30% on other clothing – depends on mfr.
10-20% on hard goods, on the upper end for Cabelas brand anything
    7-10% on electronics
    less than that on guns/ammo

I got the card in the mail too. You can bet its main purpose is to clear inventory, and having the sale on a Sun. night (after the weekends shipments have arrived and been picked over, and that they have intentionally short-stocked) ensures that you won’t be able to find anything you came for.

Thanks for all the responses A couple of PM’s pretty much made up my mind… What I am after, does not have alot of margin built in, so discounts are either very little or nothing. Don’t know that I want to drive the extra 70 miles on a sunday night… Hopefully I have a deer to take care of anyways that night, if not sooner
