I was hunting/ moving a couple stands for the rut this weekend at my parents and heard some bad news about their neighbor that was a couple classes behind me in high school. He was getting out of his stand and had his backpack over one shoulder and it started to slip off, as he tried to grab it he lost his balance and fell. He broke his back and his neck and is currently in a full body cast. Morale of the story is use a rope and pull your gear into your stand. I already do this but do not have a good safety harness, this just made me think and now I’ll be buying one before I go out again. Everyone be safe and good luck.
