Guys, I’ve got a CVA Elkhorn that I’ve had for a couple years. I’m going to hit muzzleloading hard this year and give it a try. However the trigger pull sucks on this rifle. Does anyone know much about this rifle or would it be better to just have a quality trigger put in ASAP?

Maybe take it too a good gunsmith, a good gunsmith probably would be able to tell you whats possible, maybe he can work on it as is and maybe he’ll suggest a new trigger assembly. Can you write the CVA company and ask them if there’s a change out.

I’ve had a couple of smiths work on triggers that were horrible and in all cases they came back way better than I expected for about $30.00. I’m not sure what kind of adjustment the CVA has but sometimes a good polishing of all contacting surfaces does wonders… good luck
