Wandering what everyone else uses for their trailcam settings as far as the number of pics in burst mode and the timeout setting? What works the best to give you a nice amount of pictures without over doing it (or under, for that matter)

    Thanks!

I start at 1 minute, 1 pic…. if it turns out to be a high traffic area, I push out to 5 minutes. Nover gone longer than that

If I’m on a travel corridor I almost always run a 2 pic burst, due to the movement of the deer, it sucks getting 1 junk pic of a big boy But on any kind of food or water I mostly do the 1minute and 1 pic. JUst had a cam set on a mineral site that was set for 2 shots and a week later I had 430 some pics not fun to sort thru!

I like to buy 2MB cards and Run 15-30 second videos and then take a pic on my cams. You guys would be amazed how many times you probably miss the 2nd deer in a group because of your cameras taking one or 2 pics of the first deer and miss the 2nd deer all together because of the camera waiting the 1 minute or 5 minutes to reset. By then that 2nd deer is long gone and is often the bigger deer.

I am OK with missing a few deer, if it means my camera batteries are not dead in 2 days, on a 2 week soak….

I set my cameras as 1 minute and 3 shot mode. All cameras are also set to take videos, two of which will take night videos. All of our cameras also run off external 12 or 6 volt batteries and run from early spring until late fall on a single charge. A couple cams get left out all winter and then we have to charge the batteries maybe twice. Using external batteries has saved us piles on money from buying replacements.
