January 27, 2008 at 5:58 pm #648220Im not sure Im a “rivereyes” either …lol.. but I think you displayed a nice sense of travel photography that gives a great feel for the subject… and afterall. thats what its all about… plus I think snapshots are probably the most IMPORTANT photos… I find at the end of every year.. its the shots of my family, friends, pets.. the things that show our lives… these have the most impact in the end…
January 27, 2008 at 9:53 pm #648260Are you finding the curry to be much more flavorful over there??? I know a missionary family from there and when they cook with the real stuff…….Hmmm, Hmmm, Hmmmmmmmmm!
Tried any “unique” foods?
January 28, 2008 at 6:54 am #648414As you can see the time difference is a little different. I am 11.5 hours ahead so ya’ll are sleeping now while I just got to work.
Big G, it does feel a little like that here. There was a ‘VIP’ at the hotel that had his own personal armed guards. They looked like they were right out of Indiana Jones. They had the same type of dress and cover on their heads. They even had the curly mustache…and they had machine guns. I would have taken a picture, but I wasn’t sure that would be a good idea. And most of buildings are beautiful from afar. Not so nice up close (besides the palace).
Pug…There are a couple large lakes here. I don’t think you want to do too much fishing in them. There is a very much a sewery smell when you drive by them. Sanitation isn’t exactly the same here. In fact I have seen so many guys get out of their rickshaw to go #1 next to the road, it doesn’t even shock me anymore.
No, I haven’t tried any unique foods. I’m lucky to stay in a very nice hotel so I ONLY eat there and ONLY western food (although steak is not exactly what we think steak is, but the pizza is very good). I don’t feel like getting dysentery(sp) while here so I’m being very careful.
Here are a couple more pictures of the palace and ‘other’ interesting things.

January 28, 2008 at 2:58 pm #648468B Curtis,
Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Now come on.. Lets see the pictures of the hot chicks. You could post them here and delete them from your camera before you get home and have to show the wife.whittsendPosts: 2389September 17, 2009 at 5:22 am #205989I just thought I’d give a plug for my local taxidermist, Jeff Priest. I stopped out to deliver my bear skin and I got a chance to chat with him for a while. (He actually skinned the skull out of my bear while we B.S.’d so I could take it to a beetle guy to get it cleaned ASAP)…
Anyway, Jeff is a tremendous guy and does fantastic taxidermy work. He’s one of the nicest guys you’ll talk to and loves talking hunting or fishing.
He’s done three mounts for me so far and they have all exceeded my expectations. I attached the photos, but these pics certainly don’t do them justice. They are nice in the picture, but REALLY nice when you view them in person. He also has some nice examples of his work in his shop on Hwy 27.
Anyway, if any of you in the area are looking for a taxidermist, give Jeff a call. He does great work and is super to deal with!
