Wondering if anyone may know if a site exists where a person can find or look up to see if a particular peice of land is in this program. The bordering property where I bowhunt has landowners that live out of town maybe even out of state and over the years I know people have helped themselves to this property, as I can see a portion of it from one of my stands. Hunters, fourwheelers and even a truck. This property hasn’t been farmed in maybe 20 years which would make me think maybe they put it in CRP. In the past week somebody has made a onetime meadow look like a tractor pull arena and am thinking they sprayed weeds for foodplot prep. I’m just wondering if I could find anywhere online where I could find out if this piece may be in the program as this would be a big no no, especially because I think this person probabaly doesn’t have permission to be on it. Thanks in advance. Randy

I may be wrong on this but I think you can still plant certain types of foodplots in CRP ground as long as its not harvested. Not 100% on that though. Hopefully someone else knows for sure.

Some areas actually require it. ND has a program for every X acres of CRP, CREP, or what ever you need 1 acre of food plot.

Ben and Rob are right on; depending on the program, foodplots are allowed on certain chunks. With our CREP land having more of a perpetual easement, we can plant up to a certain percentage of the total acreage into food plots.

If it’s in a program like Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP), the size can be quite a bit larger, up to half or more I believe.

That still doesn’t answer the question of whether or not they have permission to be there. You’d be absolutely amazed at what people help themselves to in terms of other people’s land.

You could probably go to the county FSA office and tell them your their neighbor and they’ll give you the address to where they send CRP payments to. Then you could lookup a phone number from that. Just a thought.
