HORICON, Wis. (AP) — A father and son are accused of illegally killing a 26-point whitetail buck in Dodge County.

State Department of Natural Resources warden supervisor Dave Holmes says investigators believe the trophy buck was shot with a gun late last year near Horicon during the archery season.
Charged with misdemeanors in the incident are 45-year-old Wayne Nisiewicz and his 24-year-old son Anthony Nisiewicz, both of rural Horicon. Holmes says the son told wardens that he legally shot the big buck with a bow and arrow but investigators believe the arrow wound was inflicted after the buck had died.

Holmes says the buck would be the third largest deer with “non-typical” antlers ever taken in Wisconsin if legally shot with a bow and arrow.

Holmes says the DNR investigation began with a tip about suspicious gunshots

Why do people do this ??? Could you really stare at a mount of a deer, everyday, that you knew you rightfully did not take ??? No scruples I guess

I’ve seen two mounts that were shot from cars and i thought the same thing. How pathetic.

I agree Big G – Not sure how anyone could live with themselves and be proud knowing that you illegally harvested a deer.

Most likely they couldn’t keep their mouth shut and it eventually came around and bit them in the

Is there such thing as an accomplice to poaching? Conspiracy to poach?

How can they accuse a father AND son of poaching a deer?

I would say maybe dad, shot it with a rifle, then sonny boy, came along and plugged it with an arrow, to try to harvest. Just from what I am reading into it….. that or dear ol’ dad was driving, when the kid shot it, with a rifle, then the bow. Just a couple of possible scenarios.
