Nothing to do with hunting, but…

I have to do a little bragging. I help coach my son’s Little League team and this past weekend, the Hallie Royals took first place in the end of the year “Hallie Youth Days” baseball tournament. We were the 5th seed coming into the tournament and the boys played their hearts out and went undefeated!

I also have to brag because MY son Adam (who had struggled at the plate) had the game winning hit in the 4th inning with 2 on and 1 out. We were down 2-1 when he hit a double to left field which scored the two runs and he scored on the throwing error to second base!

Not bad for a bunch of kids who were not expected to win at all! Such a great feeling as a dad and coach! Ok, back to hunting!

Some memories are even better then the ones we create hunting or fishing…. and this would qualify as one of those.

Congrats to the Royals and you too Dad/Coach!

Congrats to Adam, his teammates, his coaches and you Mike! That’s outstanding!

My son Ian was also in a 16 team double elimination tournament over the last week. They lost their first game and then they had to make the long way back through the loser’s bracket. Well they got hot and ended up winning their next five games! The winning streak finally ended and they lost their last game 10-8 but ended up taking 3rd place overall. Not bad for a team that went .500 during their regular league with all of the same teams in the tournament.

That is awesome Brad…those kids get tired though playing that many games. Adam’s team was 6-8 on the regular season and tied for 5th in the league with 2 other teams. So no one saw us coming!
