I know many feel this should be on the fish side of IDO but its my summer hunting past time so I thought it would fit in general topic. Well after bein laid up for about 11 days with the H1N1 virus Dad and I got out for about two hours tonight and were able to lay the smack down on a few carp and a dog. The carp are still moving in the shallows big time even though I thought I missed most of the spawn bein sick. Every year I get at least one chance to go with dad and he still out shoots me with his 20 year old bow and old wrap around reel Im looking forward to the Aug 31 date as all lakes open up for night fishing…Anyone else gettin out..Jay

Great job jay I wasn’t able to shoot any during the spawn because the creeks were all dried up or way below levels for them to get up there. I had a chance late last week at some huge carp (between 40 and 50 lbs) but they were about 4 feet under the surface and i was in a boat I wasn’t able to connect on any and i hope they are still around that area when i go out either thursday or friday
    What was your biggest one??

These were all pertty small pro…The biggest was prob 25lbs but didnt weigh any because they were smaller…Biggest this year was 36lbs which was the biggest I’ve ever shot. Seems the lakes I go on have good numbers but never got into any real pigs..Im hoping to get out this weekend, I built a homemade removeable shooting tower for the boat that works pretty well out of some alum scrap last year and its been gettin a good work out this year….Jay

It has been years since I’ve done that in the creek by my buddys house.

    Nicely done Jay!

Nice shooting, and sweet shooting deck! Great idea on the aluminum…..won’t make the boat plow water when you’re going to/from the spots.
