Welcome to this side Chris I have never used stump licker before, but typically, I put out liquids late August. Too many ants and such right now, that will decimate any lick, before the deer get the chance. Again, welcome to the Huntin’ side

Welcome aboard zmax….we used a stump licker last year, if I remember right it was around July, we found a new trail (new to us anyway) and wanted to see what was using it, bucks or does or both. So I guess it would depend on what your using the licker for, growth and nutrition or just for getting pictures. If your looking for a pure nutrition spot to finish off them racks, I would agree with Glen and wait a little longer into the year. Good luck and welcome to the hunting side.

What nutrutional value does it have? If its high in proteins, get it out now and throughout the summer. Whitetails crave proteins throughout the spring/summer and early fall.
