Are carp pics ok? Especially if they are big dead arrowed ones?

Not sure why the picture manager made them blurry?

We’ll start tuning up this week-end, with our first tournament, in 11 days!

Jay, it is a lot of carp, over 20,000 #’s worth that day. We actually sunk my boat at Maiden Rock that morning at 10:30, had it overloaded with carp. By the time we were able to get the boat out, on the trailer, we got to weigh in, just in time. Wound up with 2nd place at over 950#, and we weren’t able to shoot the last 5 hours of the tournament.

You sure those aren’t Asian Carp that just jumped in the boat for you? That is impressive indeed! And i would imagine a whole lot of fun!

My partner and I shot 988# if memory serves in about 2.5 hours.

The spreader has around 8000# in, and was dumped 3 times that weigh in.

No, but the fingers were wore down bad. Shooting off the string so much, it just rips the fingers apart. That morning we were each shooting two bows, as fast as we could draw, and shoot.

What tournament/contest were you in? I’m from Pepin which is only two towns away from Maiden Rock and didn’t know there was such a thing…

My guess is you’ll probably have barrels on shore next time? Do you lose many arrows on a day like that? Just curious haven’t shot carp for years but it sure was fun but didn’t have the pressure of a tourney

Holy cow! That is an awesome feat! I thought I was doing good at shooting 15 a day. Better contact Guiness World book of records for this! Congrats!

    Kevin,

We travel to wherever the fish might be, for the present time. That day we were shooting out of Maiden Rock. We don’t mind putting on the miles, as long as we find fish, and we usually do. Here is a link

We had already dumped at the truck once, we were coming back to offload more barrels, and the waves were just to big. Took on water faster than we could pump it out. It was quite the sight. Gas tank floating, carp swimming around, belly up in the boat. Coolers, life jackets, you name it floating out of the boat. Getting it out was even more interesting. Chains, ropes, tow straps…that was a wet afternoon. On a bad day we might each lose an arrow, due to points getting stuck in roots in the bottom, and not able to pull them free.
