first time looking for shrooms this afternoon and found these.
all of them were on east edges, south slopes or open high spots in the woods and very scattered – a few here and there.
surprised at the size of some of them.
could be an explosion by this weekend, especially if we can get a couple more sunny days.
nothin better than fried shrooms and grilled wild turkey breast.

I looked yesterday and none were found, but a few people in SE MN have found some little greys. It will still be two weeks before the big time hits here.

I went out a couple nights ago and looked for half a hour with no luck, we need some sun. The grounds warm enough but we need the sun.

found these on a north slope yesterday.
they are really starting to come on down here, and the sun is shining brightly today.
if i could just fill my other turkey tag, i could shroom full time.

I seen about 15 this morning but they were about 2″ tall, mostly grays. Give it another 5 days and you won’t have to use a stick to move leaves with, they will be over the tops of most things on the ground. The guy that had the mushrooms thought were about 2 weeks behind too, this weekend ought to be good. He had a couple small ones that hes going to take a picture of that were about as big as peas and they were growing out of some ground moss, with all the diffrent colors in the moss etc. it ought to be a good picture, the mushrooms were still growing in the moss.
