I have a turkey gun that hasn’t been able to sell on IDO yet.

I’m thinking of placing it up for auction on GunBroker.com.

Does anyone have any experience with this site as a buyer or seller?

    Thanks,

    Sully

    Sully:

You bet, have had a fairly positive experience. They charge a fee to sell like ebay, and the only hassle I had was getting nickled and dimed on the FFL shipping, fees, etc. In other words, if there’s not much margin on the gun for profit, the extra you were hoping to get for it will probably get eaten up in the FFL fee (Joe’s Sporting Goods in the cities charged $35), shipping (unless buyer agrees to pay shipping), and the gunbroker fee.

Whatever you do, don’t take it to cabelas or another gun shop. They’ll pay you less than wholesale, the whole while pointing at their “blue-book” and saying they just can’t do any better.

Joel, you offer great feedback. Thank you very much!

I wasn’t sure about how much you get at retail stores, so I’m glad you answered that question as well.

My neighbor bought his son a 30-06 last fall online. He found a ffl in Hudson that does not charge any fee. The guy does it all for fun and enjoys it so much that he ddoes not charge.
Wish there was more people like that out there!
