Whats every ones plan? Mine im going to some of my hunting land here in Iowa to do some scouting for turkey an deer.I have a new location im goin to be hanging a stand in for next fall .Also clear a few shooting lanes that need some trimming on my old stands. Its a great time of year to be in the woods.also to get some odds an ends done. Some may think im nuts but chasing these whitetails is a year around passion for me. Its also a good time to get in an find those bedding areas that you dont want to touch in the fall. you may find a new travel route an stand location. Start your home work now, an you may be rewarded this fall with that buck of alife time. have a great weekend IDO .

Ah…. a true Whitetail Freak like me!

I here ya Tony, it’s a year round hunt! So many things to do… On April 17-18, a bunch of us are going to be doing many of the same things you mentioned above. I actually learn more about the area I’m hunting in the spring versus the fall simply because you can walk anywhere right now and not have to worry about pushing any deer out of the area. We also hang our stands this early too.

How many more days until the opener?

180 here for Iowa till opener ! Also dont forget those rubber boots fellas I still try to stay some wahst scent free. Its a good time to look for those old rub lines an scrapes also. They show up great this time of year. Go in and hang them stands now when its cool go back in August and do some triming of the lanes if need be .

Being the snow dissolved my shed hunting plans, I will be dusting, cleaning, and hanging my mounts in my newly finished basement. Woohoo!

You never quit hunting Whitetails in your mind, you just give your body a rest for a few months

Dart I don’t know forsure but thats a really high temp. Should she be in the hospital, that temperature sounds dangerous.

Mossy…we did take her in yesterday afternoon. They said if she gets a temp higher than 105.5 then we need to bring her in again. Good news is her temp is down to 102…the bad news is my son has a temp of 101! Better now than in a couple of weeks when turkey season begins!
