I agree with Herb…. but I’ll call it education.

On the big river it is not at all unusual to find larger crappies using deep sauger water when the flow under the ice is not excessive.

Its hard to convince people that those big crappies love the deep, currented areas associated with flats nearby. These can be favored spots when everything is at a constant. Toss in a cold front and you will likely have to look elsewhere until things moderate again.

    Nice find!

FYI, I took the hound for a walk in the woods in a park in Vadnais Heights this weekend – looking for sheds and just enjoying being in the woods and away from the chaos at the in-laws house (did I just say that?). We kicked around the brush for an hour or so, didn’t find any sheds – but upon our return to the house I noticed a deer tick crawling on the back of the pooch. It was 34 degrees outside. Hmph.

Time to break out the Frontline.

My pup had 2 wood ticks on him two weeks ago. I was hoping they weren’t out yet as well. Not fun.

Correct me if Im wrong ,but I dont believe those were deer ticks.Because deer ticks are the size of a pin head. Maybe you just have very good eyesight !

Yeah, it was a deer tick…I spotted what I thought was just a fleck of mud moving on the dog’s back.

They’re small, but they can easily be seen with the naked eye.
