I am new to posting, but not to this site. I stumbled into the attched article and thought it should get passed onto others to be aware of. If you are from one of the states mentioned or know somebody from there, it is something to get on. It comes a website called OutsideHub.com

Nobody Can Sell Ammunition After June 30, 2009 February 2 2009
    Written By – – 02/2/2009

This needs to get in the hands of every American. If they get this passed in 18 States mentioned in this email it will just be a matter of time before it is in all States. Read on. This may be one way of taking the 2nd Amendment liberties and trashing
    them…

    Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama , Arizona , California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , Maryland , Mississippi , Missouri , New Jersey , New York , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina , Tennessee , and Washington.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

To find more about the anti-gun group that is sponsoring this legislation and the specific legislation for each state, go to:

    http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm

Even if you are not a hunter/shooter your help is needed. We all have to work together in these times.

how are they going to know if you have any ammo that needs to be destroyed? If it was mentioned in the provided website sorry for asking this question, cause I did not go to the website for the simple fact that I beleive that this will not go anywhere.

Well, CO’s in the field will start checking your ammo, I’m guessing will be one measure. Maybe shooting ranges will be forced to have all ammo “checked in”? The last effort will be when Obammy uses his newly, Nazi/Gestapo replicated civilian militia doing door-to-door inventory checks on registered gun owners! Heaven help us if he ever gets his wish on that one!

Is this talked about in the link? I better quit being lazy and read the darn thing. If it is true that obama is trying to do this I had better get started on the plans to build a secret room. one of those revolving wall type things. The longer I type this the more po’d it makes me. WTF are they going to do to a person if they have any unregistered guns in the house? Take them from you? I have three that were my dads and I would bet the farm that they were never registerd. Did they even do this back in the day? One of his rifles he gave me was won in a card game from his brother.

perchhead – I do belong to the Zumbro Valley Club. Mostly use it for a good safe place to take the grand kids shooting.

This things appears to be legit. I went on the link, which has a link to the bills for each state mentioned. Each one has house bill number asigned to it and some are carried over from 2007. Some would not open, but Kentucky’s did. From what I get out of it these Encoding Bill are for ammo. sold for use in guns that are listed in the bill. These guns appear to be Assult Rifles and their domestic look-a- likes. The ammo. would have to carry a serial for each box, printed outside & inside the box – inside each carrtridge and on the base of each bullet. Rounds can not be put from one box into another box. The Kentucky bill had mostly to do with the per round tax and how it would be collected and fines for not getting it sent in on time. Really lame if you ask me.

Guys (and gals), As long as these threads don’t turn into bashing political parties, slandering persons, or attacking each other or each others beliefs, we can have these discussion on IDO. Stick to discussing the issues and having an intelligent debate, and these threads can continue. Turn this into another “attack thread” and it will be locked up.

Individual members who continually ignore this rule on IDO will be suspended or banned. Those are the individuals who refuse to debate in a civil manner, and those are the ones who force us to have some of the strict rules we do.

Think before you type. Thank you.
