Who keeps a deer hunting log?

Does anybody here keep a hunting log? Like with the date, location, weather, sitings ect.. from year to year. I have for years ( wife says Im weird) to keep track of what stands are good at certain times of the year. I added up the last 12 years and came up with some interesting but useless stats that I can share.

In the last 12 years:

I have climbed into stand 452 times

I saw a total of 1761 does =3.89 per hunt

I saw a total of 553 bucks =1.22 per hunt

It was interesting to see from year to year what my sightings were since I had very close to 40 hunts every season. It really reminded me what spots had produced…Sometimes you see one good buck and that is your new favorite spot for years I think its prevented me from being stubborn on certain stands and to concentrate on my most consistent locations.

Don’t let the DNR see those numbers they’ll tell you that you have a doe problem. LOL

Something that has been on my to do list for the past couple of seasons.

Does anyone know of a good manufactured log book that works well??? Maybe if I buy one I will feel inclined to start using it…

Yep have one made up just never keep it up to date.

I use a video camera to log my hunts! I hate writing! ha ha

Used to keep a log when I had alot of property to hunt. We keep log’s on the buck’s via pic’s to see who is who.

Thats really cool. i attempted to keep a hour log my first year of bow hunting but never thought of keeping track of the encounters i had.
