Figured I should ask the pros…I hate wearing gloves pheasant hunting, and I never had to until this past season on one outing. Even with a a cheap thin glove on- my trigger finger went numb and I couldn’t feel my safety. Needless to say I “heard it” for a couple more fields. Anyone here know of a pair of gloves thin enough to still feel my safety, and trigger, yet warm enough to prevent any numbing? Thanks, I don’t care about price, I just don’t want to have to go through that again. Funny, yet very frustrating.

Check out “gripper gloves”, they may be what your looking for.

I am the same way and never wear gloves but this year I hunted in 10 or more below several times and had to get a pair. I buy a size smaller than I normally would for pheasant hunting and that seems to help. After walking a while and the blood is flowing I take them off anyway and I’m fine, its just that first 20 min or so that hurts.

I do not like to wear them but sometimes you need them. I actually go a different way and use a thinner pair but a looser pair. I find anything on my hands or fingers that is tight my digits get colder faster. Wear something thinner but looser and they stay warmer longer.

It works for me. I still have enough sensitivity with the thin glove that cuts the wind and the blood circulates better in the looser glove.

I like Cabela’s camo skins. You can get them in gore tex, and goretex and thinsulate. They aren’t overly bulky even with the insulated version, yet give great dexterity. I use goretex for early season bowhunting, then switch to the gore/insulated version into november, and into January.

I bought a pair from Cabela’s that are very thin but have thinsulite and leather on the palm. They were around 25$ and have gone thru their 3rd yr.
