This is another excellent product that Rob and I saw at the WI Deer Classic. It’s an extendible folding tree saw made by Hooyman – CHECK IT OUT!

    They have two versions – a 5 foot and a 10 foot.

The 5 foot folds down to just over 12 inches! The saw also detaches and can be used by itself.

The 10 foot folds down to 28 inches and comes with a handy sling (the saw also detaches).

It’s amazing how light these saws are! I don’t know about you but I’m sick and tired of carrying the big pruning saw when hanging tree stands! This hooyman saw is the cats meow and will be with me from now on!

    Product Features:

Positive locking extension system – Each section of the telescopic extension arm locks down individually, creating an incredibly sturdy saw.

In line design – the saw slides and locks into the extension arm with a clever in-line channel groove for a tight connection.

Premium High Carbon Steel MegaBite Blade – Hooyman saws use a high carbon premium steel blade that features a spcecial four edge tooth MegaBite design for unmatched cutting.

Lock Back Blade – The blade on the Hooyman locks back and easily folds down with the touch of a finger.

I-beam Aluminum Construction – The extension arms on the Hooyman saw are constructed of aircraft grade aluminum in a super strong I-beam configuration. They are lightweight, sturdy and strong!

I need one of these. It’d keep me from risking my life 10 times a stand trimming branches.

Brad I saw these before but didn’t get to actually try it…it seemed to be a bit flimsy, were you guys able extend it and mess around with it at all? What were your thoughts on the durability of it? thanks Jay

Man these were pretty cool. Jay, we did not get to test it out on a tree limb or anything, but the saw seems really well put together and sharp. It is made of I-beam construction with aircraft grade aluminum. IMO, with out using it, the Hooyman seemed a lot more durable then the Pruning Pole saw I use currently. It seems I go through about one of those a year. Those pruning saws are a pain in the to carry around and not practical to carry during hunting season. The Hooyman folds up to 12″ long and could easily fit in your pack. It is also really light and easily controlled.
